FAMILY
HISTORY TRIP (Part 3)
This is one of the Ore Cars at the Dade County Mine
Location. Grandma Wright’s family also
lived here for awhile. Your Grandpa was
really happy several years ago when he discovered the concrete slab that was
the porch of the office building where the family lived. He found it again this trip! It was so fun walking around this area with
Uncle Nathan, Aunt Betty, Esther and Dad.
(Grandpa to Esther).
Here’s a picture taken at the Corry Mines of some of
the Noble Wright children and Lucille Toler.
Left to right, they are, Melba, Lucille Toler holding Kendall Wright
(Aunt Beulah's son), Freda, Kathryn and Kenneth (holding skillet). They were licking after chocolate candy
making. Taken in front of the house at
the Dade County Mining Company (the old Hugh Russell place, not the one down by
the road Kathryn remembers). Kendall was
born Sept 13, 1939 and looks to be a year old or so. We think the picture was taken about 1940 or
1941. During those years, Noble's family
lived down the hill at the other Hugh Russell Place. So long ago. You can see the concrete slab to the
right.
I’m
so glad you went with us! We had so much
fun!!!
