Did I become emotional tonight? Yes. As I watched beautiful, smart, intelligent Sarah stand on the platform as the America hero John McCain delivered his speech, it was a sad time. Here were two people with such credentials and substance. Not only two attractive couples, but people with character and values.
What has happened to America? She has gone mad. No longer does substance, character and honesty matter. All that matters is style and...what? Can somebody fill it in?
Our forefathers literally gave their life's blood for freedom. They came and fought with all that was in them to give us this wonderful country. Now, we have thrown it all away, for what?
We were the ones who stormed the beaches of Normandy to free Europe. Who will be there for us? When the extreme left liberals have their way, who will free America?
Today is the day America, true America died. This is a sad Requiem. What is our future?
Please forgive me for being so dark. God is still ruling and reigning. He has a plan and a purpose.

Sharmen, I hope you don't mind me posting this lengthy article on your site. It is encouraging. I don't know who Jeremy is, but he has a lot of good thoughts to share.
Isaiah 60: 1-3, 22 - "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. ... The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly."
When I woke up this morning, and checked the news, the Lord encouraged me with this passage. Surely, dark days have descended upon our nation, but God is telling us to ARISE and SHINE for OUR LIGHT has come! NOW is the time for Christians to stand up more than ever before to take bold and uncompromising, unwavering stands for the Gospel.
I know this is not necessarily an accurate or fair comparison, but I got a small glimpse of what Christ must have felt like when God turned His back on Him on the Cross while He was bearing the sin of the world. The cold shadow of Judgement that fell upon the cross. I felt that same cold shadow of Judgement this morning on our nation as it felt like God has turned His back on us to leave us to our own devices, which He did to Israel many times to bring her back to Him. The Judgement of God is a terrible and fierce thing. Now, don't get me wrong. I don't think or feel that God has abandoned or left America. But I do feel that He has allowed Judgement to pass on us during this season ... and it's by our own doing, not His.
I also feel that God is using this to test the character of Christians in this nation to see what we are really made of. Will we believe Him? Will we take Him at His Word? Will we truly cry out for repentance on behalf of the sins of our nation? Will we stand in the gap and become a city on a hill that is not easily hidden? Will we panic or run in the day of adversity? I tell you this ... as for me and my house, we WILL SERVE THE LORD. The government is not my salvation. God and Jesus Christ alone are my salvation.
We are truly living in unprecedented and historic times as Christians. The world is getting ready to go through the darkest and most troubling of spiritual times ... IF we don't do anything about it. We have the opportunity to thwart every plan of the enemy to push forward his agenda to remove God from our country. We have the opportunity to be world changers for Jesus Christ in these times. Do you believe that YOU were born for such a time as this? I do, and I plan on doing something about it. I plan on committing myself to prayer every day for our nation, our president and our government. I plan on praying that the counsel of God will intervene in places that would be seemingly impossible. I plan on praying that the curses that Balaam intended to bring down on God's people will indeed be turned into blessings for those same people. I will be praying for the Hamans who are planning on building gallows for our destruction to be turned on them, and that they would be caught in the same snares they intended for others. I know that what satan has meant for evil, God WILL turn into good.
This morning, as the darkness in our nation has seemingly gotten darker, that God says the LIGHT will get LIGHTER and BRIGHTER.
I also want to encourage Christians as we have won historic battles against the homosexual agenda by banning gay marriage in states like Florida, Arizona and California! Arkansas successfully banned gay couples from adopting children, which further protects children from being brainwashed into a culture of perversion and death. Colorado also passed and defined that human life begins at conception which is a victory for the pro-life movement. The Republicans still have filibuster power, which will GREATLY curtail any of the destructive policies that the Senate would try to enact that would surely destroy what's currently left of the moral fiber of our nation.
Be of good cheer, saints. Did Jesus not say that He has overcome the world?! Now is the time to pray, pray, pray and pray like never before.
