God is STILL running this world!

Is anyone out there discouraged about the course of our country? I love America. God planted in the hearts of brave men and women in the past to build this country from the bottom up. What a shame to what it has come. I pray that God will have mercy on us. This evening, I spent some time kindav praying/reading through Psalm 37. I would encourage anyone to read this chapter. Here we see what is coming for the wicked. They will be cut down like the grass; they will whither as the green herb, we will look for them but they will be gone. It certainly seems that evil is winning.
But, God is still on the throne. He delights to do great things in difficult circumstances. He loves to come through at the last minute! He enjoys winning big victories with small groups of His own. Think with me for a moment. Remember David and Goliath? David didn't have much to fight with in the human. He was a young man, much shorter than the giant, Goliath. But, he came in the name of the Lord and the victory was won. Think about Gideon and his small band of 300 soldiers. The victory was won with only this handful. The secret? They had God on their side! We too, can have God on our side.
While Satan and his cronies are having their heyday, we can be sure of one thing. Their heyday is going to be very short lived. The day is coming, maybe sooner than we think, when they WILL be cut down and whither away. You can be sure of it!
Remember this little chorus??
"God's still running this world.
God's still running this world.
Satan said he thought he could,
God said he never would.
God's still running this world."

"When God Says No, He has a Greater Yes"

Hello, everyone! Yesterday was our Ladies' Retreat here in Kansas City, which we had been planning for since last year! The day went off so well! We had over 80 ladies attend. There was something like 18 different churches represented. Wow! God really came and blessed and annointed our main speaker, Sandy Adams as well as our other speaker Ruby Mays Rice. They both spoke around our theme "When God Says No, He has a Greater Yes." Examples from the Bible and from moderm times were given. It was wonderful to be a part of such an event. A lovely lunch was fixed by Gloria Meyers and her daughter Suzy. I am so grateful for all who prayed and helped in any way. May God have the glory.

Lean upon the Savior...

Greetings, everyone. Here are four beautiful reasons why I, Sharmen, need to lean on my Savior, Jesus. These are my three beautiful nieces, Luanna, Esther, Juli and my adorable nephew, Karson. What kind of a world are they going to have to grow up in? I have been worried and discouraged about our country and this election. I need to focus and refocus on Jesus. He has helped many through much more difficult times.

Last evening, I went to church as they are having some special services this week. One of the songs we sang was "Where He Leads, I'll Follow." The third verse is very apt right now...
"List to His loving words, 'Come unto me.'
Weary, heavyladen, there is sweet rest for thee.
Trust in His promises, faithful and sure;
Lean upon the Savior, and thy soul is secure."

Jesus will take care of me!!! He will see me through. He has not forgotten me or you, either one. "Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you." I Peter 5:7
